Donating Money

Please note that all volunteers (including directors) pay their own travel expenses and so on, and our organization has no paid employees. This means that your donations go directly into our projects that help children rise above poverty through education.

Annuity Fund:

In order to ensure that all donations will always go directly toward helping children we are building an annuity fund. This will cover ongoing costs (project and charity admin costs), which will always be kept to a minimum. The annuity will also create a dependable stream of income to help run our charity projects--to make sure we can always afford to finish what we start and make all changes last for the benefit of the children. If you would like to help with this please simply write "annuity" anywhere on your cheque or on the Paypal form below. Think of it as the money that keeps on giving, forever! Much thanks!!

4. In Person: If you want to donate a large amount of money, sponsor one of our events, or donate items for us to auction at our events please email us at info@jaideechildrensfund.org and we will be happy to set up a meeting.


Registered Charity Status: We have been approved as a charity by the government. Our charity incorporation number is #1696406 We are in the process of applying for our charity number through Revenue Canada. For now, we can't offer tax deductible receipts, but we'll be happy to send you a regular receipt. We put all the names/company logos of those who donate on our website. Also, if you are an event sponsor, we will put your logo on our event brochures (and possibly display it at the event). And of course you still get the pleasure of knowing you have made a real difference in the lives of children!

Donating "Things": While we appreciate offers of "things" for the school (and we will certainly consider them!), with our current projects it is much cheaper and easier to buy supplies in Laos and India. Shipping can be more expensive than the items themselves. Also, we want to help support the local community by buying their products, hiring their carpenters, contractors, etc.

Donating Time

If you feel you would like to get involved, we would love to have you. We have monthly meetings, and our next major fundraiser, The Toronto Songwriter's Festival, will be this coming October 13/14. We appreciate your time and welcome your ideas in preparation for that event! Some areas we need help with:

-Event planning: If you're an expert willing to donate some time, we could use your help!
-Sponsorship Committee: help us get event sponsorship and also items donated for our fundraising auctions.
-Design Committee: Are you an experienced designer who wants to help a good cause? We would love to have you help us create our advertising!
-PR/Marketing Committee: Are you an experienced communications specialist? We would love to have your help in getting the word out about our event.
-Fundraising: If you have any experience at this, we could definitely use your help and advice.
-Experienced educators who have worked in developing countries: We could use your help with planning, to make sure our projects make the biggest difference for children.
-Anything else you'd like to do? Let us know! We're open to any and all ideas.

Next Meeting: We will be holding our next meeting on June 2. As with the last one, there will be snacks and tea/coffee.
