What?
The Toronto Songwriters' Festival is a two-day annual acoustic music festival featuring some of the best up-and-coming talent in the city. There's also a silent auction (this year we've got handwoven silk scarves from Laos!), so you can shop in between music sets. And did I mention the door prizes and snacks? All proceeds go toward helping children at our two projects (schools) in Laos and India. To create the festival, Jai Dee Children's Fund partnered with Songwriters Unite!--a collective of 400 songwriters run by Russell Leon. Last year's event was a huge success so buy your tickets early!
You can check out last year's feature acts at this link. We are still scouting our talent for this year. We attend music events monthly to make sure we bring you only the very best of Toronto's talent.
When?
-Saturday October 13, 2007, from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm (but music goes till late!)
-Sunday October 14, 2007, from 1 pm to 4 pm (ALL AGES EVENT!!)
Why?
To help children rise above poverty through education and help support Toronto's homegrown music talent. And because it's going to be a lot of fun! It feels good to come together to help other people. Besides, last year was amazing and you don't want to miss out!
